Careful ... You'll Put An Eye Out

Last night Chicago Sky player Chasity Melvin was poked in the eye during the team's game against the New York Liberty. Happens all the time in basketball, right? Problem is this poke knocked her eyeball clean out of it's socket! Ewww...

"I really feel like I'm going to have nightmares," Melvin said, while wearing sunglasses after the game. "It was kind of traumatizing. I really felt my eyeball coming out. I felt it coming out and I felt it outside of my face. It's going to take some time to get over this."

Uh ... yeah! I'm going to have nightmares and it didn't even happen to me.

Someone else that is probably going to have nightmares is New York's Shameka Christon, who did the poking.

"I was going for the ball and I got her in the eye," she said. "I'm glad that (Melvin) is OK. I heard her scream but it wasn't until I came back down and saw that her eye (was out of the socket)."
