4,800 Stolen Golf Balls Is A YouTube Video Waiting To Happen

Don't be surprised if these golf balls show up here on this site in a video sometime in the next few months.

From the AP:

Nearly 4,800 fluorescent yellow golf balls are missing from a suburban Kansas City golf course after someone raided the facility's driving range.
Now why would someone want 4,800 yellow range balls? If you took just one swing for each of the balls that were stolen I would think you'd come down with a repetitive stress injury. Plus, who wants to go pick them all up. Oh yeah, these guys.
Sunflower Hills Golf Course head professional Jeff Johnson said it would have taken someone hours Sunday night to pick the balls up from the range, where they were scattered after being hit earlier in the night.

And he has no idea whether the theft was an expensive prank - with an estimated loss of $2,700, the crime is considered a felony - or if the culprits intend to try to sell the balls, with their big stripe and about half with Dr. Pepper logos on them.
Dr. Pepper logos? Those will go over big on the golf ball black market. And he thinks those balls are worth $2,700? That's like 56 cents apiece. Have you seen range balls? Wait ... I think I figured out why they were stolen. This guy stole them because he found another sucker to pull a prank on:

How awesome was that?
