Ex-NHL enforcer sues BC nightclub after suffering brain damage in alleged assault (NHL.com)
A former NHL hockey enforcer is suing a Delta, B.C., nightclub and two of its doormen after an alleged assault left him in hospital with brain damage and permanent injuries. Thomas Lewis, the lawyer for 31-year-old Garrett Burnett, claimed in a writ filed in B.C. Supreme Court this week that two men started verbally abusing him and a friend at Cheers Nightclub last December.
