The Baseball Fan's Hall of Fame Project
I am embarking on a project and I was wondering if I could get your assistance?
The Baseball Hall of Fame is becoming a joke, what with players in who should not be in, players not in who should be in, etc. What I want to do is conduct a vote for each person who is currently in the Hall of Fame and those who maybe should be in, but instead of baseball writers voting on these players, we will be using only 'fans' of the game. Screw the writers who vote on these guys as they can't seem to figure out what constitutes a Hall of Famer. To me a Hall of Famer should be a no-brainer. You hear a guys name and think, "yeah, he's a Hall of Famer", not "well, he was pretty good, let's let him in." Also, 75% to get in? Come on! If more than 10% of those voting don't think you're a Hall of Famer, then you're not one.
I will be conducting polls for every player so this project may take a while. I will be posting more than one player at a time though to help speed up the process. Hopefully once it is finished we will see who is in the "Baseball Fan's Hall of Fame."
The voting will take place in the bar on the right side of the screen until all players have been voted on, so keep checking there for new players to vote on every so often.
To be "enshrined", a player must garner at least 90% of the vote. We don't want any of these borderline guys in our Hall of Fame (yeah, you Don Sutton).

Great idea. I hope Hank Aaron doesn't get too lonely, though, before someone joins him.
And Cap Anson with 84%? Come on, people - he was one of the reasons baseball became a segregated sport.
I'm working on a Hall of Fame idea of my own. These types of things are a lot of fun, aren't they?
